Poor sealing contributes to drastic degeneration of the packaged product.

The element inspected is the assembly that forms the tray, a product composed of three different elements. On the one hand, there are two transparent plastic materials with different opacity and consistency: tray (structural element that gives firmness and shape, from here to be the main element) and sheet (superimposed product to generate the closure and allow the visualization of the product); and between them, the adhesive (material responsible for enabling the sealing process).

Inspection in plastic trays

The inspection by means of artificial vision is carried out with a system located in the plane perpendicular to the circulation of the containers. With structured lighting, the ideal contrast is generated to detect possible discontinuities in the adhesive along the entire perimeter of the tray:

● Lack of material.

● Porosities.

● Homogeneity.

This solution allows validating the correct sealing of the trays, thus guaranteeing the adiabatic properties that the packaging must present. In order to generate the atmosphere of protection that allows for the proper preservation of food inside.

Inspection and positioning of labels

The software detects the entry of the handle into the field of view and locates the controls by means of relative positions.

Once the system determines that the label does not meet the configured parameters, it sends a machine stop signal, causing the defect not to end on the roll.

When the machine positions the labels to the values set as "danger", the system sends a signal correcting the position of the following labels.

Defects considered:

● Incorrect position of the label.
● Double label.
● Lack of label.
● Bent handle.

Using a keypad connected to the vision system, the operator can select a reference change as well as parameterize the values for the label evaluation.
